Year 2010 News

21/12 Our little ones are growing well and they are soooo adorable :-) They are all about 650 grams at the age of 10 days. Maisa is a natural mother, very proud of her. The names of the pups are Hi-Lite Hula Hoops (girl), and the boys are Hi-Lite Hot Rod, Hi-Lite Hillbilly and Hi-Lite Honky Tonk. Photos will be added asap. Team Hi-Lite wishes all our doggy friends a peaceful Christmas time and a happy new year 2011!

14/12 The puppies and Maisa are doing great. The little ones are gaining weight and everything is going smoothly. Added a photo album for Hi-Lite H-litter with a few pics so far.

12/12 On Sunday it was the Finnish Winner show 2010. Basenjis were judged by mrs. Eleanor Bothwell (GBR). Both Timon and Tuuli got excellents with the most lovely critiques and mr. Nikke got vg. CAO entry was nice 7 for the judge mr. Zeev Trainin (ISR). "Little" Faruk surprised us showing himself very nicely and the judge couldn't help noticing it - the result was nothing but Best of Breed!!! As extra, Faruk got titles Finnish Junior Winner 2010 and Finnish Winner 2010 with the first cc :-))) How great is that? My warmest thank yous go to our friend Mari, who was kind enough to sacrifice her weekend to help me out and making the whole trip possible! Thank you thank you thank you :-)

11/12 As there were still no news of the puppies on Fri eve, had to start the trip to the huge Winner shows held in Helsinki without Janne, who stayed home with Maisa to be ready to take care of the puppies once they should arrive. The show on Saturday did not give much to us; Timon got vg, Tuuli got excellent and the best did "little" Nikke in junior class. He was 4th out of 10 with very good!! The judge (mrs. Tuula Savolainen) didn't hand out that many excellents, only 2 in junior males class, so I was very pleased :) It was also the time for cao Faruk to start his official show career; only at the age of 9 months. We did know that he was going to look like a puppy compared to the more mature and adult boys, but he still received excellent in grading and was finally BD-3! So a very nice start it was. The judge was mr. Horst Kliebenstein from Germany. But the news got only better as the day went further... Janne announced the birth of 3 wonderful boys and one princess, all red/white with white markings!!! Everything went just fine and Maisa is the most caring, calm and relaxed mom. These were lovely news and we are thrilled!

10/12 Maisa got an invitation to the big and glamorous gala night Champion of Champions 2010!! It's going to be held 12Feb 2011.

04/12 Wotta lovely day! We got a confirmation from Sweden that Timon's bride Ch. Yulara Itichika is definately pregnant - wonderful news! Faruk attended to a match show today. There were 31 dogs in his class and in the end he was the winner of the blue ribboned ones! The judge praised him and told us that he was amazingly impressive and handsome dog! We agree ;) The official ranking of Finnish Kennel Club of the Show dog 2010 has been published and our sweet Maisa, the mom to be, was ranked as number 51 - all breeds!! He is the only basenji listed and we couln't be more proud :-))

14/11 Our day wasn't successful this time at Jyväskylä Int show under judge mr. Göran Bodegård from Sweden. Both Tuuli and Duke were exc-4 and Timon got excellent. Nikke was shown second time in official classes and was vg4 in juniors class. Sweet Minni was visiting us with her owner, our dear friend Katja, and was entered for the first time. She did a nice job and got pleasing vg. Black beauty Alli was also entered, in a big junior bitch class, and got an excellent-2. She was also shortlisted in best bitch competition, and was finally "kinda" 5th best bitch. Very well done!!

10/11 We received a letter from the FCI - sweet Maisa (momma soon to be) is now a confirmed beauty champion aka International champion!! And she still is not even 3 years... Hope we will still have fun in the shows in the future .))

03/11 Maisa's pregnancy has been confirmed by the vet today :-)

31/10 Entry was numerous 43 at Lahti Int show today under a lovely judge mrs. Anca Giura from Romania. When we got back, the car was filled with success and happiness :-)) Our gorgeous Danish import mr. Duke (Kimwitu's Duke E) won the intermediate class with excellent and finally he was 2nd best dog with cc!! Tuuli's handsome son Bulldobas Cream And Sugar aka Rene was 3rd best male. The (grand)mom Tuuli herself is looking beautifulllllll and won ch class bitches ending up being 2nd best bitch, I am so proud of her. Was also proud to handle the king of the day, another son of Tuuli, Bulldobas Catch The Wind aka Karma. He won BOB with cacib and the judge just praised our dogs :-)))) Congrats Helena and Tipi-the breeder! Thank you also Mari for keeping me company ;-)

29-30/10 Timon had a beautiful girlfriend visiting him from Sweden named ch. Yulara Itichika. The couple seemed to be very fond of each other and we are very proud of this lovely combination. New Years Eve puppies expected at Yulara. Thank you for you lovely stay Mia and Monica!!! Keeping our fingers crossed ;-)

23/10 Results from the Seinäjoki Int show judged by mr. Primoz Peer from Slovenia are very pleasing. Timon was exc3 in ch class and Tuuli was exc1 in ch class and in the end a lovely result as 2nd best bitch with cacib, my darling she is! Nikke (Hi-Lite Dashing Bulldobas) entered the show ring for the first time in adults classes, at the age of 9 months and 2 weeks only. First he won junior class with excellent grading and then he was placed as 2nd best male with a very first cc!! We are sooo happy for the start of his show career :-)) Congrats to his co-owner Taru!!

16/10 Tuuli and I are proud "moms": Congratulations to Tiina Mäki for Juno's EE ch title! He won BOS under judge mr. Tino Pehar. BOB and BOB-junior at the same show was the grand-daughter of our Tuuli, so it really runs in the family. Well done also Tiina Tootma :-))

09/10 We are finally expecting!! And by "we" I of course mean our lovely couple Timon and Maisa. Timon mated her today so the puppies are due to born on 11 December. We are sooo happy!!

19/09 Our sweet cao boy Faruk (7 months yesterday) entered a Specialty show for guardian dogs such as owcharkas etc. He was behaving and moving beautifully for judge mrs. Marja Talvitie and was BOB-puppy. We decided to wait for the finals and it was well worth it - Faruk went all the way to BIS-puppy!! Even though the entry was not big, we value this win a lot and are very proud of our darling and goofy Faruk :))))

18/09 Great day for us at the Finnish sighthound club Specialty show in Lahti, judge was mr. Fernando Madeira Rodriguez from Portugal. First out in the ring was "little" Nikke, for the 3rd and last time in the puppy class. He won his class and ended up as BOS-puppy to a beautiful girl Bulldobas Cute As A Button! No boys for us this time but in the girls it was the first time for our beautiful black beauty Alli (Kingwanas Greatest Story Of All) to enter the junior class at the age of 9 months and 7 days only. She is truly beautiful and won her class with excellent. Maisa was behaving nicely in the cold and rainy weather and won the ch class with excellent as well. AND in the end she was best bitch-1 followed by young Alli (a cc for her of course) - how great it that!? Maisa was finally BOS and is out of the rings now for a while, hopefully taking care of her maternal duties soon :-) This year for her has been terrific and we are somewhat speachless of her success!! The entry in the show was nice 24. Thank you everyone for your company and congrats to Noora and Tiina as well for Alli's success. Thanks to her breeder Liv for trusting us to have her :-)

03/09 Happy news healthwise; Nikke's (Hi-Lite Dashing Bulldobas) fanconi test result came back as propably clear/normal!! Great :-)

22/08 Tuuli ia a proud mom of FAB' FIVE!! Also Juno (Bulldobas Crush On You) gained his ch-title at the age of 2 years in Heinola under judge mr. Unto Timonen (FIN). Congrats Tiinas :-) Also Timon's son Jaro (Bulldobas Blockbuster) was awarded a very nice BOB win with cacib in Mechelen, the jugde was mr. Siegfried Peper. Well done boys Marcel and Jaro!!

15/08 We are so very proud of our kiddos Nikke and Minni! They attended to a show in Pihtipudas where the judge was always so pleasing mr. Paavo Mattila (Fin). Nikke went BOB-puppy and Minni was BOS-puppy :-)) They both got excellent critiques (which can be found at their own show results page) and we are soooo pleased; thank you Taru and family Seppä for taking SUCH good care of our precious ones! A lot of other really nice results from the same show though... Tuuli's gorgeous sons Rene and Bono were there too. Rene beautifully BOB and Group-1, Bono bm-2 with a cc and a new Fi ch!! He is the number 4 offspring out of 5 of Tuuli to gain his CH-title. This makes us very proud of our queen Tuuli :-) Congrats also to Tiina, who is the breeder of these great puppies!

07-07/07 The hottest (show) weekend ever!!! One positive thing is that the show was here in our hometown, Kuopio, so the travel wasn't that much. On Saturday the results were nice under mr. Tom H. Johnston from GBR. Duke was 3rd in intermediate class with excellent and Timon went 4ht best male! He showed his paws to a nice bunch of younger boys when gaiting in the ring... ;-) Maisa was 3rd best bitch! Tuuli's son Rene was BOS with cacib - wow! Other son Karma, who won BOB and cacib on Friday, got excellent too!The day was crowned with a lovely BBQ at our house later in the evening with lots of our friends, thank you everyone! On Sunday the weather was boiling hot and really got on everyone... Both Duke and Timon had the same placements as on Saturday, the judge this time was from Portugal, mr. Manuel Loureiro Borges. Maisa on the other hand was showing herself great and won the bitches with her last needed cacib - she is a brand new International Champion at the age of only 2,5 years :-) She is our sweetheart!!

01/08 What a lovely, lovely day at Mikkeli puppy show! Our little CAO boy Faruk started it our being BOB-puppy under judge mrs. Marjo Järventölä. He received a very nice critique! 4 basenjipups entered and our team had 2 boys; beautiful brindle boy "Reino" (Hi-Lite Dreaming Bulldobas) was 2nd with honour prize!! Congrats family Hokkanen, our dear friends :-)) Brother "Nikke" (Hi-Lite Dashing Bulldobas) swept the table being BOB-puppy and finally Group-1 puppy under judge mr. Esko Nummijärvi! The judge totally loved Nikke :-)) So it was more than a dream start to their show careers and we are very very happy! Congrats also to Nikke's owner Taru. The critiques can be found at Nikke's and Faruk's own show results pages.

31/07 We had a nice letter from the Finnish Basenjiclub's breeding committee; Our planned litter Timon x Maisa is now officially recommended!! Now we just wait for Maisa to start her season... :-))

28/07 Little and sweet mr. Joonas (Hi-Lite Dating Bulldobas - 6 months) entered a match show in Suonenjoki with me. This brindle boy is looking fab and he won Best In Show!! So proud of him, keep up the good work his owners Eric & Annamaria :-))

24/07 Tuuli congratulates her gorgeous sons Rene and Karma for winning a lot at big Helsinki National Summer Show. Rene won BOS under judge mr. Jarmo Vuorinen and tri brother Karma was bm-3 with a cc. This cc made him a brand new Finnish & Swedish Champion!! Our warmest thoughts for you all, way to go Helena and Karma :-))

18/07 Way to go our little black&white star Alli and owner Noora! They entered the puppy class at Ylivieska Int show and the result was BOB-puppy with a lovely critique :-) Tuuli's son Rene (Bulldobas Cream And Sugar) was BM-2; congrats to Tiina also!! Added lots of critiques to our dog's own show results pages.

17/07 Maisa did it again!!! Group win!! Just when we thought we were about to get down from 7th heaven, princess Maisa strut her stuff again at Mäntsälä all breed show. The judge was mr. Paavo Mattila and the adult entry was nice 17. Duke was entered as well and he first won the males with a cc!! Then it was Maisa's turn to win the bitches and finally BOB award :-) We were naturally more than pleased! Decided to wait for the group finals. And boy, was it worth to wait as the judge mrs. Elina Haapaniemi gave Maisa the first prize of Group-5! Sooo thrilled we were, it was an icing on the cake. No placement for our princess in the next day's BIS-final but who cares?? She did absolutely wonderful job and we did give her lots of treats afterwards :-) We want to thank again the judges, mr. Mattila and mrs. Haapaniemi for these wins! My warmest thanks this time goes to dear friends Ari & Janne, who were there to keep us company and to help out in everything :-)

13/07 Little mr. Faruk started his show career in an unofficial match show and in a super hot weather... Still he managed to charm the judge, mr. Markku Kipinä, who placed our "small" 4 month old CAO boy as 2nd in big baby dogs class. We do value his opinion and words about Faruk a lot :-)

10-11/07 For a long time we had a chance to go to a dog show trip "just the two of us" and we surely had a lovely weekend in Oulu, there were 2 International dog shows. Oulu has been a very successful place for our dogs and so it was this time too! In a boiling hot weather on Saturday the judge for basenjis was mrs. Tuula Pratt from Finland. First he placed Timon as 2nd best dog with res-cacib, but then gave Miss Maisa the BOB award! She seemed to like her a lot :-) Later on in the group Maisa was also shortlisted by judge mr. Tapio Eerola. Not quite a placement for us though. On Sunday the weather was as hot.... Listen to the results: Timon BOS with cacib and Maisa BOB with cacib as well under judge mr. Gunnar Nymann from Denmark!! But there was "a bit" more to come: the same judge was judging the group later and in the very tough company Maisa was given Group-1 :-))) We we absolutely thrilled and could not almost believe it! Even if it was a real heat wave Maisa enjoyed showing herself and really gave it her best. The BIS judge was a charming Italian gentleman, mr. Paolo Dondina. He loved Maisa so much and placed her as BIS-3!!! The day was more than perfect and you can imagine how happy we were! The long way back home didn't seem so long after all :-)) Our warmest thank yous to judges Pratt, Eerola, Nymann and Dondina! We want to dedicate this marvellous win to Maisa's grand-dam, beautiful Mali (Helios Hot Chilli Pepper) who died earlier in that week.

19-21/06 Had an absolutely fun trip to Sweden with Miss Maisa and her brother Karma (Bulldobas Catch The wind) and owner Helena. There were 3 international shows in the beautiful city of Jönköping. The first day was a bit rainy and cold and so were the results: Maisa was 2nd in a big open class with cq and Karma was 3rd. The judge was mrs. Kornelia Butrimova. Our judge on the second day was mr. Zoran Brankovic and as the sun started to shine, our results got better. First out in the ring was Karma who the judge seemed to like a lot as he was the winner of big open class with cq and in the end he was 3rd best male with later usable cc!! Maisa did almost as well; she won her class of big entry as well and was 4th best bitch!! The last day was very warm and we had a nice judge mr. Rony Doedjins of Holland. Karma won his class again and finally was 2nd best dog with another cc and res-cacib :-) He surely looked handsome! Maisa was looking super as well and gaited nicely; result was 3rd best bitch :-) The results are very pleasing as the entry was huge every day; some 20-30 adults and there were lots of great dogs from allover Scandinavia. Thank you Helena for the company and congrats for Karma's prizes - Momma Tuuli here at home is as proud of her kids as am I :-) All critiques of Maisa can be seen at her own show results page.

12/06 Super news from the Czech Specialty: Timon's kids success continues :-) Best In Show was a son of Timon, Bulldobas Blockbuster aka Jaro!! How great is that? The judge was world famous Jon Curby, so this win is much valued. Congrats Marcel, Anne and Tipi-the-breeder :-))

05-05/06 Finnish Basenji Specialty was a nice event again! We were so happy to see our WONDERFUL friends all over the country again!! The judge was mrs. Säde Hohteri from Finland and the entry was over 100. Duke, Maisa, Tuuli and Timon all got excellents in grading as well as great written critiques :-) Timon was also shortlisted at the big class of 15 champion males! The best result for our team got our newest import and the first black/white basenji at Hi-Lite; miss Alli aka Kingwanas Greatest Story Of All. She was looking superb and was 3rd out of 15 baby girls! The judge's critique about her started as: "Stunning and very stylish..." :-) So we are very excited to look further to see her grow. Thank you for our dear friend Liv for breeding her and sending her over and thanks/congrats to her co-owner Tiina @ Bulldobas as well! Alli is living with Noora and she has taken very good care of her - thank you everyone!

05/06 Even if we were not able to attend the Estonian Winner show 2010 this year, it was time for Timon as a stud dog to shine... His beautiful daughter Solebas Amazing Anna won BOB with title EEW-10, cacib and cc and so she became a new Estonian and Latvian Champion!! So proud and happy for the owners of Anna and for breeder Tiina Tootmaa :-))

29/05 We are sooo happy after some health testing again; took Duke (Kimwitu's Duke E) and Nikke (Hi-Lite Dashing Bulldobas) to a official eye checking and they are both all clear!!! We think this is great news :-)

23/05 We attended the "famous" Aptus show in Helsinki for a second time. It seems to be a quite nice show for us since couple of years back darling Tuuli was BOB and today her beautiful daughter Maisa won the bitches with cacib nro. 6 and BOS :-)) The boys did fairly well too; Timon was 4th best male and Duke (perhaps a bit too Yankee like for our judge mrs. Brenda Banbury from England?) excellent 2nd in Juniors. Very happy! Now we are waiting to go to our Specialty show in two weeks to have FUN with our friends and to see a wonderful entry of basenjis (126) as well :-)

20/05 Little man Nikke (Hi-Lite Dashing Bulldobas) has been to two match shows just to practise a bit. And he surely needs some more practising ;) At his first match show he was 2nd out of 15 puppies and today he went BIS-5 out of 95 dogs!! Stacking him is - well - tough job? But I guess the jugdes love his movement as much as we do! He is only 4 months now so his behaviour is excused with a big smile :-))

16/05 Timon is soooo proud of his handsome Estonian son Solebas A'Dream Action for finishing his Estonian and Finnish Lure Coursing Championship by the best way possible; winning the Estonian lure coursing title EMM-10 for the 2nd year in row!! That's so wonderful Action :-)

16/05 We had invited lots of puppies over to spend a lovely afternoon having fun at us. We are happy that so many puppies with their owners were able to join us :-) The puppies were a mix of Hi-Lite/Bulldobas pups and even one Yurala was here :-)) Thanks everyone, you really made our day!!

13/05 The first lure coursing competition of the season, for Timon, in Kajaani. Timon was 2nd with cq! At the same time we visited our friends that are the co-owners of our little keeper bitch puppy Minni (Hi-Lite D'vine Bulldobas). She has grown up nicely and we really adore her movement! Keep up the good work with her Katja :-)

08/05 Lots of updates thanks to our webmaster Katja! :-) Now you can find own pages of Alli, Nikke and Minni and also our newest addition Faruk! He is Janne's "little darling", a Central Asian Ovcharka male Turkmen Stam Faruk. He has coped into our pack very well and is such a cuddly teddybear :-) Thank you to his breeders Svetlana and Jorma Kamila!
Spring is also a time for some annual health testing and did it this time to Duke and Maisa in form of thyroids. The results are most pleasing :-)

17/04 Drove all the way to the West coast of Finland to take part to Vaasa Int show. The judge there was mrs. Jelena Kruus from Estonia. It was only Duke and Maisa this time that I had with me and they both received res-cacibs! The most flattering critiques can be found at both dogs' show results page, as always :-) As I was in Vaasa, had to go and meet the little ones Alli (Kingwanas Greatest Story Of All) and Lego (Hi-Lite D'light Bulldobas) as well, in their own home town. They are both very happy and lively little basenjis and I cannot wait to see how they will look as they grow up!! Keep up the good work Noora and Mikko :-) We would like to congratulate the father of our puppies, Old Legend's Dojo-Hoshi, for finishing his German champion VDH title. Great job Katrin and Dojo - we are so proud!

27/03 Great show news from Germany: Timon's super looking son Bulldobas Blockbuster won BOB and BIG-3 couple of weeks back at Offenburg show under judge Noel Baaser. Today's news came from Luxemburg where he won last cacib needed and is now new International and Lux Ch!! We are so proud of Jaro :-) Warmest congratulations to owners Marcel & Anne and to breeder Tiina T!

20/03 Wonderful, wonderful news from the huge Tampere International show. The judge was mr. Boris Spoljaric from Croatia and there were over 30 basenjis entered. First we had Duke in the ring and he won the junior class with excellent. Timon was naturally in very tough champion class and was exc2! In the best male competition our boys did marvellous; Duke 2nd and Timon 4th :-) There were also lots of girls entered and Maisa was very beautiful, winning the bitches and finally BOB!! We were also able to show Bulldobas breeders class as BOB -love you Tiina THE Breeder! Thank you everyone for everything on this very special day :-) We were not able to stay and wait the finals though. Still a perfect day! The house is very quiet now since the puppies are all gone. We feel lucky to have found very nice homes to all our babies. I guess most of them will be seen in the show ring later! The only girl Minni (Hi-Lite D'vine Bulldobas) and Nikke-boy (Hi-Lite Dashing Bulldobas) will stay co-owned with Taru and Katja & co :-) Handsome Reino (Hi-Lite Dreaming Bulldobas) will be loved by Satu and family, Lego (Hi-Lite D'light Bulldobas) by Salla & Mikko, Andy (Hi-Lite Dazzling Bulldobas) by our friends fam. Gabel, Kafka (Hi-Lite Dating Bulldobas) by Annamaria & Eric and Tiitus (Hi-Lite Digging Bulldobas) by Pirjo and Seppo! Thank you everyone for taking such good care of our little ones!

06/03 Check out the new wonderful photos of our gorgeous puppies out of D-litter photopage! Dazzling, Dating and D'light are still available and ready to go to a new home :-)

01/03 The puppies visited veterinarian today and everything went well and they are doing just great!! The first one will move tomorrow, the second on Wednesday, then third etc. But we still have 3 wonderful boys looking for that own special home; 2 brindles and a red one. If you are interested, don't hesitate to contact us. Added couple of new photos to our D-litter gallery :)

20/02 Horrible weather continues; -30 degrees. Still I was off to a show in Tuusniemi, this time had miss Maisa and brother Bono (B. Candyman) with me. Bono behaved nicely in the cold conditions and was placed as 2nd best dog with res-cc! Maisa was awarded BOB by the judge mrs. Ligita Zake from Latvia :-) Needless to say we didn't stay and wait for the group finals.. While I was coming back home from the show received a wonderful message: Timon is now officially the male of the year 2009 and Duke the puppy of the year 2009!! We are so happy to be owned by darling Timon and to be the co-owners of handsome Duke. Congrats also to Tiina and Eila - hugs! This year has also started in a very promising way to our dogs, so we will see what happens along this year....

19/02 The pups are here at "home"! 7 sweet babies are here and we all take care of them; specially the human kids and our adult dogs. Tuuli even allowed them to go to her "milkbar" :-) Trying to get them used to table and will post some photos asap. Gotta love them all!!

14/02 On Valentine's Day you are supposed to have fun with your friends and so I did with Tiina T on our successful trip to Estonia. It was an International show in Tallinn and basenjis were judged by mr. Miroslaw Redlicki from Poland. We had syblings Rene and Maisa with us and they both won their own sex with cacibs and cc's! Maisa's cc made her a new Estonian champion, it is her 3rd national title in only 25 months of age :-)) This time handsome Rene was BOB, congrats Tiina - Momma Tuuli is sooooo proud of her kids!
Also Timon's beautiful daughter Solebas Amazing Anna took part to the show and was 3rd best bitch!
Visited the puppies also on my way to the show and boy have they grown!? They look just gorgeous and I am totally in love with the handsome boys and the beauuuutiful princess!

06/02 Had a lovely day "alone" at Eno group show with Maisa and Duke. The judge was mr. Paavo Mattila from Finland and listen to this... Duke won the males with cc and Maisa the bitches with cc and this made her a brand new Finnish and Norweigian champion!! I am so proud of little and darling miss Maisa. In the ring choosing best of breed Duke won and the jugde really seemed to like him a lot; he even thought Duke was something really special and exceptionally promising young dog. So thank you mr. Mattila! Satu, Kerttu's owner, keeps me really well updated about the puppies so thank you! The precious pups are doing greatly; starting to make yodeling voices, their tails are starting to get curled and ears to erect. We do love them so much from a distance for another couple of weeks...
Few boys still looking for that own special home - I will be more than glad to give you any kind of information of the pups :-)

30-31/1 Wonderful weekend in Jyväskylä! Went to visit Bulldobas-Tiina and to welcome our most new import, a beautiful black/white Norweigian girl Kingwanas Greatest Story Of All "Alli". Her pedigree is the reason we wanted to get her to Finland, together with kennel Bulldobas and her co-owner Noora Kaarela. Bet little Alli will make her big brother Raipe verrry happy! We want to thank you everyone making this possible; Liv and Dag, Astrid, Marcel and Kristina, Tiina and Noora :-)) Alli will have her own page shortly. On Sunday went to see our D-puppies, who are 3 weeks old now. Couldn't be more happy about them! They all are growing up nicely and look very beautiful :-) They have started to have their solid food and surprise, surprise - they lovely it ;-) One boy, either red/white or brindle/white (both flashy marked), is looking for a co-owning home and couple of others for their own home! All inquiries are welcome :-) New photos added to D-litter photo page.

24/1 Our family had a wonderful visit at the puppies and family Hokkanen! The 7 pups have grown a lot and are doing just fine :-) Thank you Satu for everything! Added new photos to D-litter gallery.

19/1 A short update of the pups; Kerttu-mom's owner has kept us really well informed about the little ones, they are very lively and gaining weight every day! We are going to see them again on Saturday and have a photo or two :-) Some boys still looking for that own loving home - all inquiries are warmly welcome! In a couple of weeks we are happy to welcome our imported little Miss Alli to join our basenji family as well... :-)

13/1 Updated first photos of the puppies to their own photo page.

9-10/1 Hmm... This year has started out- should I say- in good Speed? So may wonderful, wonderful news already in January! First news are from Saturday. Darling Kerttu (Bulldobas Dream Of Kenya) decided in good time to get rid off of her huge belly... and started to whelp in the early afternoon at her owner's house as was planned. As I was REALLY not ready yet, sweet Tiina went there to help. Pups came out in a row and easily, result is 3 brindle boys, 1 blackish boy(?), 2 red boys and a princess in red!! Kerttu is a wonderful mom and the puppies are very lively and loud, just perfect bunch! Our most sincere thank you for Tiina Taavitsainen and Kerttu's precious owners Satu and Ilkka Hokkanen, for everything!! Some boys are still looking for that own special home :-) Later on on the same day there were great news also from Estonia; 2 of Timon's kids are now champions!! There was a show in Tartu and Solebas Attractive Ally won BOB and BIG-3 under judge mrs. Anett Bystrup (Denmark) and brother Solebas Almighty Alfons was BOS! Our warmest congratulations to breeder/owner Tiina Tootmaa :-)) On Sunday we popped in to Kajaani International show and Timon was, once again, on the top. He won BOB and cacib and my sweetest miss Maisa was 3rd best bitch :-) The judge was mrs. Susanne Wendell from Finland.

01/01 Happy new year everyone!

All our dogs entered got excellents; Timon was 3rd in champion class and Tuuli 2nd in hers, both with excellents. But the king of the ring this time was Baby-Duke. He gaited so beautifully and this was also noticed by the judge, because he got Junior excellent-1, Nordic Junior Winner 2009, Best Male with cc and Nordic Winner 2009 and finally BOB!! And he is only 11 months.... Thank you all our friends for chearing with us and congratulations also to Duke's breeder Annemari Nielsen and co-owner Tiina T :-) Thank you also judge mr. Tuominen!

12/12 The most darling basenjiboy in the world: Happy birthday Timon 4 years!
Finnish Winner show 2009 in Helsinki, judge mrs. Hassi Assenmacher-Fayel from Germany. Entry 46. This lovely and long awaited day with our friends started as usual with the junior males class. Duke was naturally entered and did he not only get an excellent grading but won the class with his first ever title "Finnish Junior Winner 2009! Next in line was Timon who behaved beautifully and placed as exc3 in champion class. Duke was also shortlisted in the best 6 males together along with Tuuli's son Karma. Then Maisa continued in the open class females and was 2nd with excellent and so was mom Tuuli in ch class. Both girls were also shortlisted in the BB-competition and Tuuli was 2nd best bitch with res-cacib and Maisa "5th" with res-cc!!! So pleased we were :-))

22/11 We could not be any happier, as Kerttu obviously in on her way of having puppies :-) and we had a great show in Jyväskylä Int show, which is one of the biggest in whole Finland. There were 30 basenjis under a wellknown basenji judge mr. Simon Parsons from GBR. First we entered Duke into the ring, it was his first time in juniors. He gaited amazingly beautiful and even the judge said in the critique "impressive mover". Duke got an excellent grading and was finally great 3rd best male with res-cc!! What a start for this 11-month old boy! Timon looked as handsome as always and first he won the champion class and was 2nd best male with cacib :-) Maisa was in open class and won it with excellent and surprised us winning it all the way: BOB with cc and cacib!! She is our sweet, little darling :-) And it wasn't all there... Later the group judge mr. Hans Lehtinen gave Maisa Group-2 prize!! We were also a part of the gorgeous Bulldobas breeders class with Timon and Maisa, and got to the BIS podium... Amazing day! Congrats and thanks Tipi and all our other friends too :-))) Red/white and brindle/white puppies expected on 14 January 2010!! Dam is beautiful and healthy Triple Champion Bulldobas Dream of Kenya and sire handsome German dog, D Jch Old-Legend's Dojo-Hoshi. The litter is recommended by the breeding committee of Finnish Basenjis. More info will follow shortly. All inquiries are welcome! Contact hansukytta@hotmail.com or mobile number +358-44-5381688.

25/10 "Popped in" to Tromssa, Norway, with Juha and his Rytmi (Bulldobas Rockin' Riot) and Marjo and her cirnecohound. There was an international show and basenjis were judged by mr. Harald Aune from Norway. Entry was 6 and first I took Rytmi into the ring and he won the males becoming a new Int and No ch!! Then Maisa did nothing less but won also the bitches with cacib and later usable cc :-)) This is what we went there for and it was so lovely to get it. Later on Rytmi was 2nd in Group, congratulations Juha!! We had a lovely trip, it all went smoothly even thouhg total kilometers were something like 2200, and the company was great. Thanks Juha and Marjo! We also had lovely company as Ida (owner of Maisa's cousin Bono) took as to lunch and showed us a bit the city of lovely Tromssa. Maybe sometime again?

17/10 The news from one of the biggest shows in Germany, Kennel club's Bundessieger show, could not have been better: Timon's son Bulldobas Blockbuster won BOB under judge mrs. Elina Tan-Hietalahti (FIN) out of entry 26!!! Way to go Jaro, Marcel, Anne and Tiina :-)) Sooooo proud!

13/09 A warm and sunny fall weather at Porvoo national show where I travelled with Tiina T and had only Duke with me. It was the last time for him in the puppy class and he finished it with style being BOB-puppy out of 6! Way to go our handsome little man :-))
Also Tuuli's sons did marvellous job; Karma (B. Catch The Wind) won his 3rd cc and was BM-2 with me and darling Rene was BM-4. All girls here at home are very proud of these guys! Now it's time for a small break from shows.

29/08 Had a hugely long day to go to Tervakoski Int show. Woke up at 5 AM and was back home after 9 PM. But boy, it was worth it :-) The amount of basenjis entered to the most wonderful Norweigian judge, mr. Geir Nordahl Pedersen, was amazing: 61! First it was time for Duke to enter the puppy ring. He got a lovely critique and prize of BOS-puppy! So proud of this young and handsome male... Timon did a super job once again and won the champion male class of 9 and was finally 2nd best male followed by Tuuli's gorgeous son Rene as BD-3! I had enterd Maisa to open class and there were 7 bitches in her class, which she won with excellent grading! Result in the end for her was 4th best bitch and a cc :-) Our precious jewel, that's what she is! Thank you Tiina for your company on our trip and for everything else too, you know my friend?! Had a lovely time at the showground with our other friend too, I owe them a lot :-) On our way home we had a lovely message from Germany, out of one of their Specialty show that had over 50 dogs entered. Timon's look-a-like son Bulldobas Blockbuster was awarded BEST IN SHOW + BEST GAIT!! Cannot say more than congratulations! Btw, now all the kiddos of Tuuli are cc-winners from Finland, as lovely boy Juno grabbed his first cc at Kouvola show last weekend under judge mr. Markku Kipinä from Finland. Very well done Tiina A!

23/08 On Sunday we only had Timon and "baby" Duke entered to Heinola national show. The judge mr. Igor Selimovic obviously loved our dogs since they both won BOB-titles - Duke in pups and Timon in adults. Total entry was nice 21. Timon also made the cut in best 8 dogs in the group finals. Where papa Timon didn't quite make it in the group, son Jaro DID it in Belgium, at Mechelen Int show. He was greatly handled by his owner Marcel (as always) as BOB and BIG-3 - our warmest congratulations Anne, Marcel and Tiina :-)

22/08 The lure coursing season had it's "hi-lite" today at Finnish LC championships in Jyväskylä. Tuuli's first run was nice and she was 4th but in the finals she first fell down (looked awful!) and then lost the lure so that was it, zero points and placed as 6th in the end. Timon did 2 even runs and was happily awarded the silver medal, for the 2nd year in the row!!! During the day we also got great news from the Baltic Winner show 2009 in Estonia, where Tuuli's son Karma was 2nd best male with res-cacib and Timon's daughter Ally won the bitches with cacib (don't know how many she now has!?) and the new winner title! Congratulations everyone involved :-)

16/08 We had a wonderful day at Joensuu International show and basenjis were judged by mr. Ove Germundsson. Duke kept on getting nice results, 2nd this time with gorgeous critique and hp! Tuuli's son Bono (B. Candyman) attended his first show since May and boy, he was looking great. Result: a cc and best male-3! He only lost to 2 Int champions and the first one of them happened to be our Timon... he won his 5th cacib this year! In the bitches sweet and darling Maisa won her class and was 2nd best bitch with her 7th cc and a res-cacib!! Timon was BOB again, and in the group... well, he is getting closer and closer of being placed LOL - So "5th" this time. We are very proud of Timon, and of all the others too :-) We also think this was a great weekend for Tuuli's young kids, all 5 were shown and result was 3 cc's plus a res-cc and also the 5th was placed greatly in his class. Congratulations everyone involved!

15/08 Great news from the Finnish Sighthound Club's specialty show: actually we were not there but the flag was held way up by the progeny of our Tuuli. Her sons Bulldobas Cream And Sugar and B. Catch The Wind were 2nd and 3rd at the best male competition out of a great entry, Rene receiving a cc and Karma a res-cc. Also Juno (B. Crush On You) got excellent with a lovely critique. We are so very proud of you guys and owners/breeder! Maisa sends her kisses to her handsome father Soni for winning BIS-1 at the same show...

02/08 Baby Duke was the only one of our dogs entering the Iisalmi Int show. Basenjis were judged by mrs. Elina Tan-Hietalahti from Finland. She fell in love with our handsome boy and gave him the BOB-puppy prize! He has been to 5 shows so far and has received honour prize every time - Way to go Duke and congrats Eila :-) Momma Tuuli sends her kisses to her gorgous son Bulldobas Cream And Sugar for winning BIS-3 at the same show, he is such a sweetheart! Hugs to her breeder/owner Tiina :-))

26/07 Day after the beautiful wedding ceremony we attended a national show in Helsinki, the judge was mr. Ronald W. James from GBR. He truly fancied Duke and placed him 2nd with hp out of a nice bunch of male puppies! Timon was exc4 in champion class, he was a bit too small for him. Otherwise the critique was really wonderful and can be read from show results-page.

25/07 While we were having fun at Helena and Tomi's wedding, who are the owners of Tuuli's son Karma, (and by the way they looked wonderful together!), Tiina Aaltonen was kind enough to take momma Tuuli to a dog show to Latvia! As a result of that trip Tuuli gained few new titles; Latvian and Baltic Champion as well she is now unofficially Multi champion having 7 national titles! We couldn't be any more proud of our Queen - thanks Tiina :-)

18-19/7 We have had a one month break from shows and were now entering Timon, Maisa and puppy- Duke to 2 x International shows in Oulu. On Saturday the judge was mrs. Soile Bister (Fin). She was very strict but for us the results could not have been ANY better. First Duke went on winning BOB-puppy out of 5 puppies. So this was a very nice start for his career :) The judge told us that she was most pleased about him! There were 11 adults and amazingly Timon won BOB + cacib and little miss Maisa won BOS with her very first cacib and her 6th cc!! We were naturally most happy. Timon was also shortlisted in the groupfinals. Sunday was almost as great day for our dogs. Under very tough competition Duke was placed as 2nd best male pup with prize of honour and excellent critique under charming judge mr. Piotr Kroll from Poland. Timon looked absolutely gorgeous and was moving like a dream so the judge gave the BOB prize again to our handsome boyz Timon with Janne – yai! Maisa was pretty and placed 3rd best bitch this time. Also today Timon was shortlisted in the big ring, no placement though. This was surely a super weekend for us and we will remember it for a long time – so thank you judges Bister and Kroll.
Also added all the critiques from the weekend to our dogs' show results pages.
We want also to send our warmest congratulations to our Superman-Timon's handsome son Bulldobas Blockbuster for winning reserve best male at the German Specialty in Lorch under worldfamous breeder judge mr. Christian Jouanchicot (Out of Africa Basenjis). We are soooo happy for you Marcel and Anne and for breeder Tiina for all the success this weekend!

13-14/06 We had the long awaited Finnish Specialty show! Such good time with our friends for the whole weekend with some nice results as well :-) The judge was mrs. Kay Eldred (Australia) of Jebelmarra Basenjis. Darling Duke started his show career and was not so co-operative to Janne who handled him... Still he managed to impress the judge and was placed 2nd with honour prize in his huge class of 15 male pups! He got a lovely critique and boy we do love him, too!! Timon didn't feel like posing this time and his result was very good and the same result was given also to his beautiful son Luka (B. Brown Sugar). Maisa on the other hand pleased us a lot as well as the judge getting excellent and was 2nd in her big class of juniors. Tuuli's class of ch bitches was even more numerous (14) and she looked wonderful; result exc3 :-)) No Best Bitch-placements this time for our girls. Tuuli's sons were doing great; handsome Rene (B. Cream And SUgar) was placed 4th with exc in intermediate class and brother Karma (B. Catch The Wind) won 9 junior males with excellent and had res-cc and won also the Best Tricolour Dog :-)) Thank you our dear friends for your lovely company in Nurmijärvi, hope to see you all next year too!! Photos and critiques will be added shortly.

6-7/06 Lot's of fantastic news from Estonia: had a trip there with Maisa and Timon to go to Estonian Winner Show. We had the best company with as our friends Tiina T and Ari & Janne were part of the team :-) On Saturday it was time for the Winner show. The judge was most pleasing lady Chie Ejima from Japan, 20 basenjis were entered. Maisa was first in line in junior bitch class with 4 other girls and she won it with excellent gaining junior-cc and title "Est Jw'09"! Later on she was also 4th best bitch..but there was more to come ;) We had entered Timon to champion class and he did just not win his class but won the whole breed=BOB! That made him a brand new Estonian Champion with title "EstW'09"!! He was looking absolutely wonderful flying around the ring and being sooo proud... We were also able to show his progeny class for the first time (with 3 Solebas pups and 1 Bulldobas) and were awarded BOB-progeny class :-) Timon truly was the star of the day since he was also shortlisted in the groupfinals among 8 best dogs :-)) On Sunday there was a specialty show for group 5 in Tallinn and the results were nice again under Austrian judge mr. Robert Blumel. Maisa was exc3 and BB-3 and Timon exc1 and also BD-3! We want to send special congrats to Timon's daughter Solebas Attractive Ally who won BOS and gained 4 new titles; Baltic, EE, LT and LV Jun ch - congrats Tiina Tootmaa! The handsome BOB dog this time was our friends' (Ari & Janne) dog Finny and we are sending special greetings for them for Wäinö's Ch-title as well! The whole trip was more than successful for Bulldobas dogs - huge congratulations to Tiina T :-) Special greetings also to all Solebas puppies and handsome youngster Bulldobas Buck-A-Roo (Timon's kids) and to Tuuli's son Juno (Bulldobas Crush On You) for being 4th best dog both days!!
Also in Finland Tuuli's kidz were keeping the flad high; Karma (Bulldobas Catch The Wind) was BOB at Salo national, congratulations Helena!

23/05 Lot's of good news from today! Duke started his showcareer today in a very unofficial match show. First he went on winning the big entry (39) of puppies with Janne and in the end they were placed BIS-2! Well done our sweet baby boy among some 80 other dogs :-)) And then some progeny news; Timon's son Tito (B. Buck-A-Roo) took part to Rauma national show and was placed greatly BD-4 under judge Rony Doedjins (Ned) - congratulations Sanna and Tito! Tuuli's son Rene went to Helsinki with Tiina to an invitation competition; Royal Canin Junior Grand Prix. The placement was great BIS-3, even though Rene thought it was boring and gave Tiina some hard time :-) Anyway we are very proud!!

21/05 Our first lure coursing competiong of the year in Kajaani and both Tuuli and Timon took part. Timon still wasn't in top shape after a little injury he had couple of weeks ago, so he was 4th with cq points though. On the other hand, we have been able to train Tuuli a lot and she is in tip top condition and run 2 very good races and was placed 2nd with cq as well, being the smallest of basenjis competing. We are very proud of Tuuli's competition, after all, she is almost 5 years...

17/05 Our warmest congrats to Iita, Tero and Tipi for Luka's (Bulldobas Brown Sugar who is Timon's son) res-cc and BD-3 placement at Hamina nat show under extremely tight judge mrs. Dagmar Klein (SLO). Well done - can't wait to see precious Luka again! For the first time in Estonia the title EST EMM-09 was handed out in lure coursing and the title was won by Timon's son Solebas A'Dream Action!! So proud of you and huge congratulations :-)

16/05 Varkaus National show was held in a lovely sunny weather quite close to us. 12 basenjis were judged by mr. Tino Pehar from Croatia. First it was time for Tuuli's kiddos Bono and Rene and they both received excellent ribbons, Bono winning his class this time. Then it was time for mr Timon and Janne to enter the ring and they did not only win the ch class but best male :-) Bono and Rene right after him. Congratulations Eila for Bono's second cc in row! Maisa was looking beautiful in junior class and also the judge seemed to think that because Miss Maisa won the bitches!! In choosing the BOB dog, she won it over Timon. The day could not have been better for us :-)) Thanks Tiina and Eila for this wonderful day again! Thank you also judge mr. Pehar. Also great news from Estonia; Timon's beautiful daughter Solebas Attractive Ally is not only pretty but an amazing lure courser too. Today she won her second race and cc with huge 530 points! Papa (and the rest of us) are sooooo proud of you all :-)

02/05 Another wonderful day! Maisa and bro Bono (B. Candyman) took part to Tohmajärvi group show, the judge was mr. Johan Juslin (Fin). First in line was Bono who did just not win his class but the males receiving his first cc :-) He was behaving like a pro! Then it was Maisa's turn to enter the ring and the result was BOB for her, so Bono was BOS. The day was perfect! Later in the group finals Maisa was shortlisted among the best 6 - we are sooo proud of our princess! So 3 of Tuuli's young babies were shown this weekend and they all won cc's. She truly is already a proven dam, our beautiful queen :-))

01/05 Way to go Helena and Karma (Tuuli's son Bulldobas Catch The Wind)! Today at the Hollola group show under judge Marja Talvitie (Fin) they won BOS and first cc for Karma as well :-) Soooo proud of you guys!!

26/04 How glad that we entered Timon and Maisa to this huge International show in Lahti. Even though we knew the entry was going to be quite numerous, which it was, 37, we decided to go there. And it really was worth it! Timon won BOB under our German judge, charming mr. Walter Schicker :-)) He was moving like a dream. Maisa also was nicely placed in junior class out of 7 with a nice critique, she was exc2. We were also proud to be a part of high quality breeder's class of Bulldobas, congrats Tiina for this BOB, too.
This BOB dog of ours is going to have another beautiful bride visiting us next fall; one of the top winning girls from Sweden - Yulara Itichika. We think this combination is most promising... Inquiries to kennel Yulara, Mia Löwbeer and Monica Massih.

25/04 Timon's beautiful daughter Ally in Estonia has also showed her "claws" in lure coursing; in her very first race she won the competition with a cc and had amazing 513 points!! Great job!!

19/04 A looooooong and exhausting trip to Northern Norway, to the beautiful city of Harstad in over and I am super tired after travelling some 2000 kilometers... but boy, it really was worth it! At the Int show of Harstad the judge was mr. Göran Bodegård from Sweden and I had the girls (Maisa and Tuuli) with me. Maisa started the bitches and won her class with cq and lovely critique. So did Tuuli, won her class and she was chosen as best bitch with cc and cacib and became a new Norweigian and Nordic Champion!! Maisa ended up as 3rd best bitch, she is soooo nice. 11/04 We think Tuuli is amazing... Here she is sleeping at home and her offspring collect the wins; today at Lappeenranta Int show (entry 19) under judge mrs. Gunnel Holm (Fin) her kids won BOB (Rene) and BOS (Maisa)!! How great is that?? Timon was looking lovely after 4 months out of the ring and was 2nd best dog :) So thank you judge for a fantastic day and thanks Tiina and Ari for your company today! Duke finally has his own photo page, check it out.

09/04 He is finally here! A long awaited sweet boy with some "royal" blood in his vains; mr. Duke (Kimwitu's Duke E.) ;-) This lovely boy is a result of co-operation of kennels Hi-Lite and Bulldobas, and came to Finland from Denmark. So thank you Duke's breeder Annemari Nielsen (kennel Kinwitu's) for this amazing dude and thank you our dear friend Tiina, once again! Duke will live close to us and have our Tuuli's son Bulldobas Candyman aka Bono as a big brother, they both are being excellently taken care by our friend Eila :-)
You will see Duke in shows once he's a bit older. Check out this page a bit later, he is about to have his own page soon!

04/04 Some health news; both Tuuli and Timon had their eyes tested today and the result was "clear" for both of them!! That's great :-) And Timon's daughter Solebas Attractive Ally keeps on the winning ways in Baltic countries; She was BOB in Rakvere show under judge mr Markku Mähönen (Fin) and brother Solebas Almighty Alfons won BOS and is now a new Estonian Junior Champion - Congratulations!! Little updating... later on Ally was chosen as 3rd best in group under the same judge - wowwee!!

29/03 Maisa wins another BOB with cc! This time under judge mr. Markku Mähönen (Fin) at Korpilahti group show. She was beautifully handled by her breeder Tiina - thank you!

22/03 We are so proud of Timon's Estonian daughter Solebas Attractive Ally. She was awarded the title Latvian Winner 2009 together with BOS by the breeder judge Christian Juanchinot (France, kennel Out of Africa). Huge congrats to Ally's breeder/owner Tiina Tootma!

14/03 A huge Tampere Int show is over. The entry under very tough (but sweet) judge mrs. Elisabet Janzon from Sweden was 45. So we are pleased with Maisa's result very good and the lovely critique which can be found on Maisa's show result page. Maisa's handsome tri brother Bulldobas Catch The Wind won the junior class of 8 entries and received a res-cc! We are very happy for you Helena and proud of the young gentleman :-) Janne also handled the most elegant and proud moving son of our Timon, Bulldobas Brown Sugar aka Luka. He looked sooooo good and can't wait to see him again, and the great owners of Luka, too! Actually, the day was a jackpot for team Bulldobas, winning BOB, BOS and BOB-breeder - super congrats Tiina :-)

02/03 More wonderful news... Darling Timon is the best lure courser of our local kennel district 2008... all breeds!! This was a total surprise and a lovely one :-)

01/03 Unfortunately we were not able to take part to Finnish Basenji Club's Annual Meeting in Helsinki held yesterday. It would have been lovely since they awarded both Tuuli and Timon for confirming their Int ch titles last year. We want to say thank you to our Club this way! They also revealed the official results of the Basenji of the year 2008. Our dogs did marvellous; both Tuuli and Timon ended up being #2 dog/bitch year 2008!! This was Tuuli's 3rd year in the row being in the top 3 :-))) All this inspite the fact she got back to the show rings in March after having her babies, we are very proud of them both! And sweet little Maisa seems to start to follow her dam's footsteps; she was awarded top puppy 3 placement and as the icing of the cace, Tuuli's son and Maisa's bro Rene (Bulldobas Cream And Sugar) took it all by winning the Puppy of the year 2008-award!! He surely was the prince of the season. Congratulations everyone!

24/02 We finally got the confirmation of our kennel name from the FCI; from now on we are Hi-Lite Basenjis!

21/02 Maisa wins her first BOB with cc at Tuusniemi group show under judge mrs. Leni Finne (FIN)!! She really liked her and we were so proud of our little princess :-) Thank you Tuija and Pete of Irezumi Portugese Podengos for keeping me company for the whole day.

09/02 We are possibly importing a dog puppy in approximately February 2010. If you feel like you might be interested and could offer him an active home, please don't hesitate to ask us for some more information.

08/02 Some "unofficial" news for change: our darling Maisa entered an unofficial match show of over 100 dogs and the result for our lovely moving princess was BIS-2! We had loads of nice trophys and food etc. to take home with us :-) This was the second time for her to win BIS-2 at our local match show.

07/02 Sorry for the late updating of the news, but we are having serious computer problems. It's not always easy in this "electric world" of ours...

10/01 Great news from the first show of the year! In Kajaani Int Tuuli's handsome son Bulldobas Cream And Sugar won his 2nd BOS, 2nd CC and 2nd BIS-junior placement out of 3 official shows. We are soooo proud of this youngster, congratulations his breeder/owner Tiina (and as always, it was lovely to have you staying overnight) :-) Brother Bono and sys Maisa got very good this time. And at the Tarto national show (Estonia) Timon's gorgeous son Solebas Almighty Alfons won BOS and BOS-junior and brother Solebas A'Dream Action was BD-2! Way to go boyz :-)

Year 2008 News

23/12 Merry Christmas to all our friends in Finland and abroad. We also wish you a successful new year 2009!

14/12 The Winner Show in Helsinki was the last one this year and the results for our dogs were: exc2 for Tuuli in champion class, exc for Timon in champion class and vg for Maisa in junior class. She was not behaving nicely on the table, so we just have to train more. Luckily all our dear friends made the day, we had fun, even when I was sick. Thanks guys!

04/12 We received a lovely letter from FCI telling that Timon's International Championship title has finally been confirmed :-)

23/11 We "popped" in to a big Jyväskylä Int show, entry was 36 to judge mr. Paavo Mattila (FIN). Out of our own dogs only Timon was entered, he was 2nd in champion class with excellent. Our Tuuli's handsome sons did wonderful job; Rene (B. Cream And Sugar) won BOS and BOB-junior and a CC at his very first show in official classes. Janne handled Karma (B. Catch The Wind) as Exc4 out of huge amount of 12 juniors. Bono (B. Candyman) was handled for the first time with his owner Eila and they did well; Bono was given very good. Janne also handled a super moving bitch Bulldobas Dream Of Kenya as BOB! Later on Rene was chosen as BIS-1 junior with Janne under judge mr. Johan Juslin (FIN)!!! Mom-Tuuli is sooooo proud :-) We also got be a part of the beautiful breeder's class of Bulldobas, the final result was wonderful BIS-2! Super congratulations Tiina T :-)
The last show of the year is the Winner show-2008 in Helsinki in couple of weeks; of course we are going there. There are over 8000 dogs there and entry of basenjis is 69..

21/11 Me and the girls (Tuuli + Maisa) took a "short" trip to Norweigian Winner-2008 show in Hamar together with my friend Tiina Aaltonen and her 2 boys; Soni and Juno. There was not much success this time, Tuuli was beautiful though, as always, and was finally BB-3 with res-cacib. Maisa was given out the first grading ribbon, too. I want to say thank you for Tiina for making it with me and baring my crazy driving ;-) Most of all I want to thank Liv and Dag of Kingwanas basenjis for accomodating us and taking really good care of us! Kisses to your beautiful babyboy Sindre :))

15/11 I received a ranking list of the best lure coursers year 2008 and the result if wonderful for Timon! He is the top winning basenji male in Finland - wow!

25/10 A show for a long time; Seinäjoki Int and the judge was mr. Jarmo Vuorinen (Fin). Entry of the show was 20+. We had a ful packed car with 3 dogs of ours + Tuuli's son Bono (Bulldobas Candyman) with his owner. Actually he was to start in junior males and he did wonderful job in his second show ever; Exc2 and second best dog with res-cc! We are so happy for Bono and Eila :-) Timon won the Champion class and was finally BD-4 with his 11th cacib. Princess Maisa started the official classes with a lovely way; first she won the junior bitches class and in the end she was BB-3, beating e.g. her dam Tuuli, who was BB-4. We are verrrry pleased about the start of the youngsters' career! More news; now from Estonia. Timon's most beautiful daughter Solebas Attractive Ally has been doing greatly in the show rings lately. First she visited the Europian Winner-08 in Budapest, Hungary, some weeks ago and was placed as lovely 2nd in junior bitches out of 8 under mrs. Kay Eldred (Australia). A week after that Ally was BOB and BIG-3 in Lithuania under mrs. Anna Jaskiewicz from Poland and today at Rakvere National show mr. Rodi Hubenthal (Nor) gave Ally another BOB and BOS was brother Solebas A'Dream Action! In the group finals mr. Matti Tuominen (Fin) liked Ally a lot and placed her second in group! Super congratulations to a proud breeder/owner Tiina Tootma :-))

20/09 The puppy class shows for Maisa are over now, today was the last one at Hyvinkää group show. The entry of puppies was quite numerous again; 5 males and 5 bitches. I was able to handle Karma at the show and boy, was he a good looking fellow! He was placed 2nd with hp right after his gorgeous bro Rene :-) Maisa was behaving beautifully and won the bitch puppies with hp, too. The Best of Breed Puppy title was won by Rene and Maisa was BOS. Mom Tuuli was very proud at home of her babies! Thank you judge mrs. Ligita Zake from Latvia.

14/09 Riihimäki puppy show today. Mr. Arvi Ellmen (Fin) adored the tricolour boys of Tuuli (no wonder!) and Karma (B. Catch The Wind) won title BOB-puppy and Juno 2nd with hp. Entry of pups was 5. At the end of the day Karma even won the group 5! Congratulations Helena and Tiina!

13/09 An active day! First it was time for some offspring of Tuuli and Timon to go to Porvoo national show. The judge was mr. Unto Timonen (FIN) and the results were as follows: Tuuli's handsome sons Rene and Juno were placed as lovely BOS-puppy and 2nd with hp! And we are so pleased of Timon's son Tito to receive a great placement as 4th best dog from junior class - we are sooo proud :-) And we took part to a LC competition with Tuuli and Timon. Tuuli lost the lure for a second and that cost her the final placement. But otherwise she did a great job. Timon on the other hand was again a good runner and in the end was 2nd with CQ and the title Champion of our Kennel district 2008, it was his second title in a row! The next races will be on summer 2009.

07/09 Non-doggy news for change: our darling (human) son Juuso celebrated his 7th birthday today - lots of hugs to you Juuso!

06/09 Lovely news of the progeny of Tuuli and Timon continue: Today at Mastery national show in Helsinki the entry of puppies was 11 and the beautiful tricoloured babyboy of Tuuli, Juno (Bulldobas Crush On you) won BOB-puppy title under judge mrs. Dagmar Kenis-Pordham (GBR)! Handsome Rene was 3rd with an honour prize as well :-) In official classes Timon's lovely son Tito (Bullbodas Buck-A-Roo) made his debut being 3rd in junior class with excellent! We are soooo proud of each and every one of you - congratulations!
Even better news from Estonia... Timon's most lovely daughter Solebas Attractive Ally went on winning BOB-puppy title at Lagedi natinal show under mrs. Maret Kärdi (Est). But this wasn't all, in the end of the day mrs. Gunnel Holm from Finland placed her as BIS-3 puppy! Wowwee!!

30/08 The handsome son of Timon living in Germany, Jaro (Bulldobas Blockbuster) was once again Specialty Best of Opposite Sex Puppy in Germany. This time handled by his breeder Tiina Taavitsainen. Congratulations Marcel, Anne and Tiina!

23-24/08 Super weekend again! On Saturday Janne went to the Finnish Championship of lure coursing 2008 with Tuuli and Timon. There were 11 coursers there and Tuuli's run wasn't the best she can do but Timon did wonderful job: he was great 2nd with his 3rd lure coursing cc - so a silver medalist he is :-) Thank you Pete for your company on this exhausting but successful trip! On the other hand Hansu went to a show on Sunday with little Maisa, who has been training a bit during the past week. At Hämeenlinna Int show the judge was a nice Italian lady mrs. Sonia Bellan-Falletti. There was a nice entry of pups, 10 altogether. Maisa was BOB-puppy and her gorgeous brother Rene won BOS- we are soooo happy about this result!! Mom-Tuuli is proud of her offspring :-)

17/08 At Heinola national show Maisa was being a little cheeky monkey; she was galloping around and not wanting to stack. She was soooo puppylike, but that's what she is :-) The judge mr. Zoran Brankovich placed her 2nd with this nice critique: "Good square formed. Middlestrong. Nice head. Dark eyes, good set ears. Good, strong neck. Good upper and lower line. Good set tail. Enough developed chest. Strong legs. Typical coat, colour and temperament."

10/08 Maisa keeps on charming the judges :-) Today Romanian judge mr. Petru Muntean awarded her BOB-puppy title at Saarijärvi national show with the most wonderful critique again (can be read at Maisa's own page). Beautiful brother Rene was BOS-puppy, so a very lovely day we had! As did naturally Maisa's breeder Tiina, who won BOB with Neela - Congratulations!

09/08 We are soooo very proud of Tuuli's beautiful babyboy Karma (Bulldobas Catch The Wind) of winning BOB-puppy title at Helsinki national show under judge mrs. Monique van Brempt out of 11 entries! Congratulations Tomi and Helena :)

01-03/08 A topwinning weekend for us at the 3 x huge International shows in our hometown Kuopio! On Friday the judge was mr. Zlatko Kraljic (Cro). Maisa entered the show ring for the first time after the Specialty show and she was BOB-puppy! She is our precious jewel :-) Then Timon went on winning the males with a cacib and Tuuli was exc2 in ch-class in this chilly weather. The day ended up Timon being BOB and he was also shortlisted in the group finals for the 8 best dogs. So a lovely start it was but there was more to come on Sat... The Swedish judge mr. Ove Germundsson seemed to love our dogs. First we entered the male puppy ring with lovely Tuuli-sons Bono and Rene (B. Candyman and Cream And Sugar) and out of the pack of 5 were placed as Rene 1st and Bono 2nd with honour prizes! Then it was Maisa's go and she did just as well and in the ring of choosing the BOB-puppy, the judge handed the award to Maisa again! What a lovely start for the day :-) Timon did the same as day before and won the dogs and when Tuuli was awarded the BB-1 prize with cacib, there we were again competing for the BOB with Timon and Tuuli. Lovely boy Timon won! In the group finals he was also placed, as Group-4 under judge mr. Leif-Herman Willberg (No). So this day will surely be remembered for a loooong time in our minds. On Sunday the judge was mrs. Saija Juutilainen (Fin). We had nice placements today too, with Maisa winning BOS-puppy, Timon as BD-3 and Tuuli BB-4. An unforgtettable weekend we had with the company of our dear friends Rami and Tiina (thank you for being such a great friend and trusting all our doggy friends to our hands) and Liv visiting us from Norway with Kingwanas Dinari. You had a great weekend too with 2 cc's and it was a pleasure to have you here!
26/07 Timon wants to congratulate his offspring all over Europe: Solebas Amazing Anna for winning BIS2-puppy under mr. Ralf Campbell (Nor) in Estonia, Bulldobas Blockbuster winning BOS-puppy at a Specialty show in Germany under breeder judge Lisa Tyler (GB) and his sister Bulldobas Be My Valentine for being Group-1 puppy in Norway under judge mr. Gunnar Nyman (DK). We are sooo proud of you - keep up the good work!

24/07 We had a lovely letter from FCI confirming the International Beauty Champion-title for Tuuli :-)

12/07 This time we had both Tuuli and Timon entered to Oulu international show. The judge was mrs. Annukka Paloheimo from Finland. First Timon went on winning the males with cacib and then Tuuli was chosen as best bitch with cacib! So in the competition of choosing the BOB dog there were our dogs, and this time it was Tuuli's turn to win BOB over Timon :-) They were both acting beautifully and we were very proud and happy! And the judges comment about Tuuli; "she really is something very special" made our day. Thank you for that!

05/07 Another BOB for Tuuli! This Saturday it was only Tuuli's turn to be shown in Mikkeli all breed show and she did a great job :-) The latvian judge mrs. Rita Kadike-Skadina liked her a lot awarding the BOB price for our princess, so a lovely day it was again!

21-22/06 Finnish Midsummer party is one of the biggest holidays in Finland and what do "doggy" people do? Go to a dog show of course! So off we went on Friday together with our friends Kimmo and Seppo of Kimsar Greyhounds and two of their gorgeous Greys and headed to Northern Sweden. Boy it was a long drive but we did manage by singing some karaoke :-) On Saturday it was time to enter the ring and basenjis were judged by mr. Roberto Schill (ROM). He said Timon was gorgeous and handed the BOB award to our boys! This win gave Timon a bunch of new titles: International, Nordic and Swedish Champion!! Tuuli was BB-3. What a lovely day we had with 3 new Swedish champions... By Sunday we had driven to Northern Finland and the city of Rovaniemi. Another international show and it was raaaiiining while basenjis were on, the judge was mrs. Tuula Savolainen (FIN). She absolutely adored Timon, again, and this resulted as another BOB win for Janne and Timon! Way to go boyz!! Tuuli was BB-3 again, too. Unfortunately we didn't have a change to stay for the group finals in either days. On this very funny trip of ours both Janne and I had a change to handle lovely Greyhound bitch Melia (Gaia Fur Elise) and it was such a pleasure. We want to thank Kimmo and Seppo for their great company and also lovely couple mrs. and mr. Niva for their hospitality while we stayed at their house in Rovaniemi! Photos will follow up shortly.

07-08/06 The Finnish Basenji Club's Specialty Show was held in Nurmijärvi - the absolute highlight of the year. We had 4 dogs to take with us, since Tuuli's lovely babyboy Rene (Bulldobas Cream And Sugar) had been spending some time with us. And of course Tuuli, Timon and the first timer Maisa came along too. Saturday began with puppies and the entry of them was huge 36. Janne beautifully handled Rene to win the class of 20 male pups and bro' Karma (B. Catch The Wind) was lovely 4th with honour prize as well. Hansu had the wild and handsome son of Timon, Luka to handle and he was also in the top 6! Maisa entered the class of baby bitches and was behaving beautifully, result as 3rd with honour prize out of 11 and with the most fantastic critique :-) (Can be read at Maisa's own page at show results) In the final of picking the best puppy of the show Rene was still looking gorgeous, so the title BPIS was awarded to him by the judge mr. Hans Lehtinen (Fin)!! So it was the first time to have a toast during the weekend :-) Next in line were the adult males, there were 38 of them. Darling Timon showed himself proudly once again with Janne and the result couldn't have been better in our minds, he was second best male! After that it really was time for some fun with our friends at the barbeque.... :-)
On Sunday it was turn for the bitches to enter the ring. This time Tuuli didn't feel like showing herself (women!) at all and got vg. Janne's 3rd dog to handle this weekend was the same as year before, lovely Milla (Bulldobas La Soprano) from Nooooorth Finland. She was gaiting like a dream and the judge couldn't help him but to give these two the BEST IN SHOW-award!! We were soooo happy, most of all for her breeder Tiina T. and her owners Marita and Rami Niva. (Btw Rami, we saw you chearing... ;) ) This surely was a weekend to remember, with lots of great memories from the ring and outside. Can't wait for the next one with our friends :-) See also the new photo album of this show.

01/06 Some more great results from Estonia! Today at the group 5 Specialty show in Tallinn the judge was local mrs. Maret Kärdi. She had 7 puppies in her ring and the best puppy of breed award was given again to Timon's progeny; Solebas Ally this time. Congratulations to her breeder Tiina Tootma :-) Little Juno (Bulldobas Crush On You) is the first one of Tuuli's babies to enter the ring at the same show and the result was lovely 2nd in male pups with honour prize!

31/05 Luka (Bulldobas Brown Sugar) was the first baby boy of our Timon to start his show career. It happened in Tallinn, at the Estonian Winner Show-08. The result couldn't have been better, the sweet boy went to win Best of Breed Puppy with his breeder Tiina T :-)

25/05 Another day and another international show in Hamina. The judge was mr. Markku Mähönen (FIN). This time the results were lovely for both of our dogs, Timon was BD-2 with res-cacib and so was Tuuli, BB-2 with res-cacib.

24/05 A well known International Aptus show was held in Helsinki and even though the entry fees were very high, quite a lot of basenjis were entered (19) to be judged by mrs. Sari Brewster-Tietjen (USA). The judge was touuuuugh giving only 2 excellents to these 19 basenjis. Our lovely Timon did well being second in champion class out of 6 dogs. But the queen of the day, once again, was beautiful Tuuli being awarded BOB! We were sooooo very happy :-) In the group finals she was shortlisted to 8 best dogs as well.

10/05 While our human family was having a holiday in Tuscany, Italy (wonderful place it is!) Timon was being taken care of by her breeder, our dear friend Tiina T. She was also kind enough to sacrifice her free Saturday to take Timon to Finnish Cup 2008, LC competition, which was an invitation race for the best lure coursers of last year. Timon kept on running faaast and was placed 3rd out of 12 basenjis and won his second LC CC!! The score was lovely 470. There's no doubt in our minds that he is one of the best male coursers in Finland at the moment and we are so proud of him being the great working dog that he is. Thank you once more Tipi for caring for him :-)

04/05 Little Maisa entered the first show, a local match show of around 80 dogs. She was behaving beautifully and the judge liked her a lot and placed Maisa as BIS-2! Way to go Maisis :-)

03/05 This Saturday was a perfect day to start the LC season of the year. The weather was absolutely wonderful. Momma-Tuuli did a fantastic job after her puppies and won the race with lovely 487 points and a LC CC! Timon was strong second with great 479 points as well! So the first race this year couldn't have gone any better :-)

27/04 Lovely news from Timon's Norweigian daughter Bulldobas Be My Valentine "Luna" who was the first one of Timon's pups to start their showcareer. The critiques from Saturdays and Sundays shows were verrry pleasing: on Saturday: ”4,5 months old female. Exl. type. Corr. head and expression. Corr. eyes and ears, neck and topline. Corr. coat texture. Excellent movement, but needs a bit more ring training. Very promising.”
on Sunday: “Feminine head and expression. Well placed ears and shoulder. Elegant neck. Good topline. Well placed tail. Nicely angulated with a correct thigh. Good coat for the age. Good movements from all sides with good reach and drive. Nicely shown and lovely temperament”. Congratulations for this start Liv and Dag and kisses to sweet Luna!

25/04 Happy news from huge Lahti Int show! Total entry was 23 and the judge was lovely lady from Sweden, mrs. Anita Whitmarsh. She really adored Timon and placed him as 3rd best dog of the day! Tuuli did even better, she was BB-2 with res-cacib. She also had the comment of having the best ears of the day :)

21/04 Mr. Kari Järvinen (Fin) was judging basenjis at Jyväskylä Int show. Timon kept on receiving lovely placements and was finally BD4, which we are more than pleased about. Tuuli had vg this time.

12/04 Arttu would have celebrated his 11th birthday.

11/04 A great friend is gone. Our boxer Arttu was put to sleep this morning due to an illness. He will be terribly missed by the whole family and we will treasure his memory forever. There is one thing I am sure of: He was/is the most loyal friend one can never ever have! Goodbye darling Arttu, we still love you.

08/04 The Finnish Basenji Club's magazine brought us wonderful news; Timon was the 7th winning basenji male in Finland 2007 and our princess, or should I say queen now that she is a mom, was 2nd most winning basenji bitch in Finland year 2007!

24/03 We want to thank judge mrs. Paula Heikkinen-Lehkonen (FIN) for making our day more than perfect again at Lappeenranta Int Show. Total entry of basenjis was 14 and she awarded Tuuli BOB with cacib and Timon BOS with cacib!
Thank you Marjo and Tiina for all your help and company on this verrrry nice trip we had :-)

16/03 Tuuli's second show in Lithuania and the result was great again; mr. Janusz Opara (POL) placed her as the best bitch with another cacib and cc and the title Vilnius Cup Winner-08! Huge thanks to Tiina Aaltonen who was willing to take Tuuli with her and to show her :-)

15/03 A busy weekend! Timon went to Tampere Int show with his breeder and we think he did very well being 2nd in champion class (out of 6 males) under judge mrs. Orietta Zilli (ITA). Tuuli entered to a show for the first time since her puppies were born 11 weeks ago, and she continued the same way as she did before the pups; being awarded BOB under judge mr. Ralf Campbell! This happened in Vilnius, Lithuania and she also received a title Lithuanian Winner-08 with a CC and a CACIB. The CC made her a new LT CH and this was also the last cacib needed for her international champion title :-) As a "bonus" Tuuli is now qualified to Crufts, too. She is our sweet princess!

01/03 Timon went back on winning ways today at Juuka group show. The breed judge mrs. Tuula Savolainen (FIN) awarded him BOB with an excellent critique :-)

24/02 She is finally here! May we introduce you our lovely little princess Maisa aka Bulldobas Crown Jewel, our Tuuli daughter. She is here to stay now and we are all in love with this very brave and outgoing girl. Photos will follow up shortly.

23/02 Timon had very good from judge mrs. Marja Talvitie (FIN) today at Tuusniemi group show. On the other side of the world, in Australia, our Tuuli's stunning brother Sunny (BIS MBISS Aust Grand Ch Afrikenji Hot Sumaknight) went BIS at Victoria's Basenji Specialty under judge mr. Ben Reynolds-Frost (GBR); our warmest congratulations to his breeder/owners Helen and David Veless!

02/02 What would be a better way to finish a CH title than to be 4th best in Group? This is what Timon did today at Eno show, breed judge was mrs. Leni Finne. He was BOB with his last CC and moved excellently also in the group finals, and this was noticed by the judge mr. Pekka Teini. Thank you for both judges! From now on Timon is called Fin, Rus, N ch, RKFW-07 Bulldobas No Regrets :-) Thank you breeder Tiina Taavitsainen for trusting this amazing dog to our hands.

13/01 Tuuli's puppies are 17 days old now and all have opened their eyes, which makes them to start playing a bit. They are supersweet!

05/01 The year has started and the precious puppies are doing well and growing up fast. Timon also attended the first show of 2008 at Kajaani international show, judge was mrs. Susan Kealy from Ireland. And again he got a nice placement as 3rd best dog with a lovely critique! Not a bad start at all :-)

Year 2007 News

30/12 A short update; puppies and mom are doing great and the little ones are growing fast. We have added a new photo album for our dogs' progeny, you can find puppyphotos from there.

27/12 Tuuli's pups are here! She gave birth early on Thursday morning to 2 tricolour males, one red/white princess and 2 red/white males! Everything went smoothly and Tuuli seems to be a good and caring mom to these precious babies :) We are absolutely in love! Pics to be updated soon.

13/12 Puppy-news from Estonia, where beautiful Masha gave birth to strong and healthy r/w Timon-puppies, 2 boys and 2 girls. Congratulations Tiina for the first Solebas litter! We are so proud of you all :)

12/12 Happy birthday our precious little man Timon, 2 years today!

09/12 So now the amazing show year 2007 is over. Our beautiful dogs Tuuli and Timon gained e.g. 6 x BOB, 9 x BOS, 3 x Group Placement, 4 new titles, 8 x Cacib, 12 x CC... This surely is something huge for us! We wish all our "doggy" friends Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

08/12 What a lovely day we had again at the Finnish Winner 2007 show in Helsinki with all our friends. The judge was charming mr. Ben Reynolds-Frost from England. We had entered Timon to compete in intermediate class and among 7 dogs he was placed Exc 3, which we are very pleased about. I also had an opportunity to handle Timon's handsome little brother Bulldobas Rockin' Rhytm in junior males class, entry of 9 in this class. And he went on winning it with title Junior Winner 2007 and is also qualified to Crufts! The final result for us was to be the best Finnish dog as BD-2 with a res-cc :)) Congratulations his owner Marika!

30/11 Timon is a dad!! His beautiful bride Pitsi (Afrikenji Kisaria) gave birth this morning to 4 gorgeous puppies; 3 males and a female and they are all doing fine. Congratulations kennel Bulldobas :-) It's a week or so more to wait for Timon's Estonian puppies to be born to kennel Solebas. Waiting for the news!

22/11 Wonderful news! Took Tuuli to our vet today and had an ultrasound done to check out if there were puppies - and yes there were! Maybe 4 or 5 small ones could be seen :-)

21/11 A nice surprise for us in Finnish Kennel Clubs magazine called Koiramme (number 10/2007) - it was Tuuli there! Photo added to Tuuli's pics page.

18/11 Since Tuuli is on her "expecting-puppies" holiday it was only Timon who we had entered to big Jyväskylä Int show, entry 46 (few absent). The jugde mr. Tom Johnston (GBR) made us very happy and proud placing Timon as second best male (BD-2) with CC and res-cacib!! It was his 3rd time in row to win intermediate class. Thank you our friends for this wonderful day :-)

07/11 Finally received the results of Timon's hipscore test from Finnish Kennel Club: healthy B/B.

05/11 We had the most wonderful news from Estonia: Timon's beautiful bride Masha (Strong Stael Dea Angella) was ultrasounded today and there were some 4-5 puppies to be seen! Congratulations Tiina, we will keep our fingers crossed till the end.. :-)

02/11 Finnish Cup 2007 results of LC are here: Timon wonderdully 11th and Tuuli 17th, out of 49, so they both are invited to compete for the CVM-08 title next May!

27/10 A day to remember forever! Mrs. Sharron Taylor from Australia was invited to judge basenjis at big Lahti International show and as I assumed the entry was big - 42 basenjis! Timon was showing himself really proud and so he was placed on winning his class out of 5 with excellent :-) Tuuli competed in champion class and she won it! And not just that, she was placed as best bitch and she won also BOB, the best male was beautiful dog Bulldobas Finnish Flutesong!! I was so happy that I burst into tears, silly me.
From the show we drove to Tiina Taavitsainen to Muurame where we were planning on to mate Tuuli and Eino. The size difference turned out to be too much for these two, but luckily we had plan B: Soni, the BOS dog of today... They made a lovely, beautiful couple and the puppies are expectd just before New Year's! Naturally we have high hopes for this combination... let's just wait and see a bit more!

20-21/10 It's been quite some time since the last "doggy-action" weekend. On Saturday I drove to Seinäjoki Int show with my dear friend Heli and the dogs Tuuli and Eino - the couple soon to be :-) Basenjis were judged for the first time by the most charming and friendly gentleman, mr. Bengt-Åke Bogren, Sweden. He really liked our princess Tuuli and placed her as BB-2 with res-cacib! I was also honoured to handle gorgeous youngsters Bulldobas Rockin' Rhytm as BD-2 and a CC and tiny B. Rockin' Redhead (exc2). So a lovely day we had! On the other hand, Janne and Timon started the long boyz trip to Tromssa (Norway) early on Sat morning with our friend Pete and his podengos. The judging took place on Sunday afternoon and Timon made us proud once again by being BOS with cacib and CC!! The entry of males was 5, total being 8. Super thanks to judge mr. Svein Helgesen from Norway. So it definately was a trip worth to make :-)

13/10 Our darling Timon had a visitor today - lovely girl Masha (Int* Est Lv Ltu Blr Balt Ch, Est Lv Ltu Balt J Ch, BaltJV-06 Strong Stael Dea Angella) from Estonia! Puppies expected out of this lovely couple around 15th Dec, under prefix Solabas owned by Tiina Tootmaa. Added a photo to Timon's own photo page.

10/10 Tuuli finally started her season :) Now we are just counting days...

28-30/09 A happy announcement to make; we are expecting puppies!! Timon and Pitsi (Afrikenji Kisaria) said "I do" this weekend to each other :) This lovely couple will hopefully produce babies in the end of Nov. Now we just keep our fingers crossed! Added a pic of the newly weds to Timon's photo page.

27/09 The long waited results of dna fanconi testing came with pleasing results; both our dogs are healthy! Tuuli was tested as "probably clear/healthy" and Timon "probably carrier".

22/09 The lure coursing season ended today at Mikkeli race. Both our dogs took part, total entry of 8 basenjis. Timon did two very good runs being 3rd with great 482 points and a CQ. Tuuli's 2nd run was good too and she had another CQ with 426 points. Now we will wait for the next summer and the races then :-)

02/09 For the third time this summer it was time for some lure coursing. This time the competition was held in Kajaani and as a surprise the weather was pretty good; cold but sunny. The track was in this field where the grass was very long. This was very hard for Timon, who still made it to the final with total score of 415 and a cq, even though he fell twice! The placement was 4th. Tuuli did two very nice runs with very good 480 points being second with a cq as well :)

25/08 The great show success continued at big Tervakoski Int dog show! The total entry was 34 out of which 12 were pups. I was happy to handle handsome baby Nuuskis (B. Rockin' Rhytm) again as second best male puppy with honour price. Congratulations Marika! This time Timon was handled by his breeder Tiina and together they did beautiful job by Timon being second best male with res-cc and res-cacib! We are so pleased with this result :-) But the queen of the day was little Tuuli! Did she not just win BOB with the most excellent critique but was also placed in the huge group as second (BIG2)! Thank you breed judge mrs. Kristina Sahlström from Sweden for liking our princess so much and group jugde mr. Jukka Kuusisto (FIN).

12/08 Nice results again for us at Joensuu International show! The judge, mr Jouko Yrjölä, Fin, placed Timon as BD-4 and Tuuli ended up being second best bitch (BB-2) with a res-cacib!

05/08 On Sunday we had an all breed show in the "neighbourhood", in our hometown Kuopio. The day was perfect for us! First we were happy to be able to handle two babies, lovely young gentleman Bulldobas Rockin' Rhytm and his beautiful sister Bulldobas Rockin' Redhead as BOS- and BOB-puppies :-) Well done kiddos! Then it was adult dogs' turn and fine they did, Timon won the males having his 7th CC and Tuuli was best of bitches. So they ended up competing for the BOB title, which was handed to Timon! And that just wasn't it, later on he went on winning BIG-3!!! We were soooo happy :-). Breed and group judge was mr. Miroslav Redlicki from Poland.
21/07 What a wonderful day we had today at Jyväskylä international LC race :-) Both our dogs had their first CCs in lure coursing on this extremely hard track. Tuuli was 2/11 bitches with total score of 464 and Timon won the males, there were 9 of them. His total points were 456! They have proven to be very good coursers, even though they still are amatours and beginners, at least to us; it was Tuuli's 4th race and Timon's 2nd, out of which they have always received at least CQs. This is a verrry nice "hobby" for us all!

07/07 We have a Swedish Champion! On Friday morning it was Janne, me, Tipi (Taavitsainen) and Tiina (Aaltonen) and four of our dogs that started the trip to Swedish Basenjiclubs 30 Years Jubileum Show. After a long ferry trip from Turku (Fin) to Sweden and even longer cardrive down to Skara we finally were there around midnight. Next morning (after heavy raining night) it was time for the show, the jugde was lovely lady mrs. Cheryl Myers-Egerton of Conamore Basenjis (Canada). Timon was nicely 5th with honour price in this very high classy intermediate class. He also received an invitation to the best head competition, so one of the 10 best headed adult basenjis he was, which we are very proud of! I had entered Tuuli in open class and it was a huge amount, 17 bitches in her class! Tuuli won her class with style receiving also an invitation to the best gait competition and a ck of course :-) In the end she won all the other bitches but one being BB-2 with CC that made her a brand new Swedish Champion! I think there is no better way to finish a title than in a Specialty show?! She was also awarded the best import in show :-) In just six months she has finished three different titles - our little princess.
The other dogs at our party did also at least well ;-), Soni being 3rd in open class and beautiful Diva BOS! Special thanks to our dear friends Tipi and Tiina with your company on this very nice, successful and WET trip. It was also so nice to meet our friends and get to know new basenji people, too!

30/06 We took a holiday trip to Pärnu, Estonia with our children and the dogs, since there was an international dog show there. The entry of basenjis was 10 and again we had a successful day! First Timon won the intermediate class with exc and was placed as BD-2 with res-cacib, which will be confirmed as cacib later on :-) So this is his second cacib. Then it was Tuuli's go to win all the bitches and to be BOS with cacib as well! Besides all this, they both had suberb critiques; Thank you judge mr. Helge Lie, Norway.

15/06 Happy bithday our precious daughter Viivi, she is a 3 years old little lady now :-) We also want to congratulate Tuuli's sister Jinja and her owners David and Helen for having a sweet little pack of puppies today in Australia. More information in Afrikenji homepage.

13/06 Our darling princess Tuuli is 3 years today!

09-10/06 The Finnish Basenji Specialty 2007 was held in Kiljava, Southern Finland and the judge was mrs. Jill Avis from Great-Britain. This was the first time that our specialty show was held on a weekend, which was a wise decision because of the huge entry of dogs, over 130! Puppies and males were judged on Saturday. Hansu handled Timon's beautiful little brother Nuuskis (Bulldobas Rockin' Rhytm) in baby puppies class and then his sister Liina (Bulldobas Rockin' Redhead) also in baby puppies class. Liina showed herself amazingly winning the huge class of 20 baby bitches and being Best of Opposite Sex Puppy in Show :-). When the adults classes started we finally knew that the jugde was going to be very strict... Timon competed in intermediate class being 3rd out of 8 dogs, and they all had very good. On Sunday there were 54 bitches and ONLY 5 received excellent! Janne handled pretty Milla (Bulldobas La Soprano) as vg-4 in champion class. We were thrilled that Tuuli was one of the bitches the judge liked and was given an exc :-) and in the end she was best bitch-3! Our princess made the day perfect! Thank you all our friends for your company and for this lovely weekend. Some photos will be added soon.

02/06 The first LC race of the summer took place today in Kuopio in a hot and sunny weather. It was Timon's first race and he did so well running fast and eagerly having total points of 231+246=477! This gave him the second place with a qc and a new title "The lure coursing champion of Pohjois-Savo kennel district 2007". Tuuli is also a very fast runner and her totalpoints were 454 with a cq as well. That was her 3rd race and she has obtained a cq from each and every one of them. We were so pleased of the days results :-)

26/05 What a busy day we had! Early in the morning we took Tuuli and Timon to have their eyes officially checked. And the results were most pleasing; the vet couldn't find anything from Timon's eyes (boy he tried to ;)) and Tuuli had only one minor PPM-strand!
As we had entered and paid for our dogs to Iisalmi national show before we knew the date for eyetesting, we didn't want to miss the show if only our dogs were ok. And ok they were in the afternoon while the judging took place. It was first time for mr. Harto Stockmari (Fin) to judge basenjis and he did just fine. He placed our dogs as Timon BD-2 with res-CC and Tuuli was BB-2 with lovely critiques (that can be found at the dogs own sites in show results part). After the show we went to visit our friends Tuija and Petri Hynynen of Irezumi podengos. We also took the dogs out to the field to do some lure coursing, just a short run to train upcoming Saturdays LC competition. It will be Timon's first race, we'll see how it all goes. Thank you Tuija and Pete for all your help and hospitality!

17/05 I went to a match show today with our precious old and charming gentleman, Arttu the great boxer. And he still has got it - the great side movement! He went all the way winning the veterans and in the end was placed as BIS-4! I was also honoured to handle Timon's 4 month old, beautiful little brother Bulldobas Rockin' Rhytm (out of same dam) in puppies class, and the result was great for this first timer-winning the blue ribbon puppies (out of 23)! As I had two dogs that I should have taken to BIS-ring, I took Arttu (BIS-4) and Nuuskis finished BIS-3 with his owner in the big ring! Congratulations Nuuskis and Marika :-)
12/05 Oulu national show. The weather today was hardly good for a basenji to be shown. Just some degrees of plus and raining... Judge mrs. Anita Lindroos liked Tuuli anyway and gave her Excellent and placed her as BOS! Tuuli's last four shows in Finland have given her 1 x BOB and 3 x BOS, so we are more than proud of our little princess :-) Timon had VG1 this time.

06/05 Timon was excellent also today at Tohmajärvi show judged by mrs Saija Juutilainen, FIN. He was BD-2 with res-cc!

05/05 Timon wins another BOB! Today we went to Leppävirta group show to be judged by mrs Ligita Zake, Latvia. The entry of basenjis was 3+3 and the judge liked our dogs so much that she placed them as Timon BOB with his 6 th cc and Tuuli BOS to him! Such a nice day it was :)

28/04 Today was again worth spending the whole day at a dog show in Kiuruvesi. Both Tuuli and Timon were judged by mr. Markku Mähönen, FIN. Timon was the king of the day winning his first BOB award with cc. Tuuli was best of the bitches and BOS. How happy we were! And it wasn't just that; In the group final the judge, mr. Esko Nummijärvi, thought that Timon was worth placing - as BIG-3!!! So quite a day we had :)
Another thing, Timon entered 5 shows in April and won cc from every one of them, and was beaten by only once by one Russian Ch male! Way to go Timon!

21-22/04 This weekend there were 2 international dog shows in St. Petersburg, Russia. This time it was Janne's turn to go abroad to show Timon and Tuuli. He went there together with our friends Petri of Irezumi podengos and Sanna of Tiger's Chaos whippets. Both days there was more than 20 basenjis entered! On Saturday our handsome boy Timon surprised us by winning all the males being BD-1 and BOS with cacib and cc, which will make him a new Russian Champion once he finishes his Fin ch title later on :-) Tuuli did fine being second in ch class with res-cc and as far as we know this will make her also a brand new Rus Ch! The judge was from Argentina. Sunday was almost as good for Timon, who was BD-2 with res-cacib and his second cc in Russia! Judge mrs. Zola Rawson, GBR, thinks he is a very promising young dog. Tuuli's wintercoat didn't impress the judge so much this time and she got vg. So what Janne and the dogs brought home was 1 x cacib, 1 x res-cacib, 2 x cc and 1 x res-cc! Thank you Pete and Sanna for great company and for this very nice and successful trip.

12/04 Happy bithday darling Arttu - 10 years today and still going STRONG :))

08/04 Today we had a day we've never had before! At Lappeenranta National Show the judge was mrs. Annukka Paloheimo FIN, and the total entry was 4+4. First Janne took Timon into the ring and he won the junior class with excellent. And after all the other males Timon was placed BD-1 with his second CC in the row! (2 CC's in one week for him) Well done our boys :) Then I took Tuuli who won the champion class bitches with exc and in the end she was BB-1. How exciting! So it was our dogs compiting for the BOB title. This time it was Tuuli's turn to win BOB Timon being BOS to her! It was a perfect day for us and to our lovely dogs. We couldn't be happier :)

01/04 Our sweet and happy little fellow Timon got his first cc at Korpilahti groupshow! The judge, mrs Anneli Sutela FIN, placed him also as best of males and in the end he was BOS! We are so happy! You can read the critique at Timon`s own page.

31/03 Our dogs did good job and took part to Finnish research of genetigs by giving their bloodsamples.

29/03 We had some very good news from our vet: both Tuuli and Timon's thyroidtest results came and everything is normal and TgAA shows negative as well!

24/03 Huge Tampere international show, total entry of basenjis 58. The judge mr Greg Eva from RSA was quite tough while judging. So we are pleased that Tuuli was 3rd in Championclass with exc and Timon got vg this time.

09-12/3 No matter how many times I had visited England before, this was my first time at Crufts. Tiina and I went to Manchester on Friday and stayd at Tom Rabitte's, Woodella basenjis. Basenjis were judged on Saturday by mr. Hans Lehtinen from Finland. I had so much fun there, enjoying the atmosphere and meeting new basenji people. Hope to get back there next year, too. I want to thank Tom and Robert for their hospitality and Tiina for great company on our wonderful trip!!

28/02 Lovely news from Finnish basenji club: Tuuli was the 3rd most winning bitch year
2006 in Finland and Timon the 4th most winning puppy 2006! We are absolutely thrilled :)

24/02 Our sweet boy Timon kept up the good work he has been doing at Tuusniemi group show. He was placed from junior class as BD3 by mr. JAU Yrjölä. Well done!

11/02 At this extremely cold weekend Hansu took Tuuli to Tallinn, Estonia to an international dog show. The total amount of basenjis entered was 8 out of which 5 were bitches. And the romanian judge mr. Cristian Stavarache's desicion of the best bitch was more than delightful to us. He placed Tuuli as BB-1 with cacib and cc so from now on she is also Estonian Ch! We are more than happy with our little princess! We also want to congratulate Vesa and Bruno for being finally BIG-2 and thank Salla for keeping me company :)

04/02 Keuruu groupshow, judge Mr Esko Nummijärvi, Fin. Tuuli was the only one of our dogs entered to this show this time and the result was so nice again. First she won the champion class with excellent and ended up finally being BB3! Thank you Heli for handling her nicely since we couldn't make it this time ourselves. You can find the critique from Tuuli's page.

21/01 Today I took Timon to a match show in Kuopio, just to practise and the result was fine. He ended up being the 3rd best out of 35 young dogs!

06/01 Kajaani int show, judge mrs. Elina Tan-Hietalahti, Finland. We had only Timon entered because we knew Tuuli wouldn't like the cold fair site at all. Janne handled Timon nicely and the result was great! First he won the junior male class with excellent and finally ended up being BD2 with resCC. You can read the critique from Timon’s own page. Timon want’s to congratulate his cousins Diva and Tepi for finishing their Fin Ch- titles with cacibs, Diva being BOB! Happy and succesfull year 2007 to all our friends!
