Super Saturday the 6th July 2013

Who would have thought we would gain 2 x bis-4 today? Not me at least :)

Puppy Lilja went to Sweden again, as it is very close to where she lives with her co-owner Mervi. This time it was an International show in Piteå and the judge was from Lithuania, mrs. Kornelija Butrimova.
She gave Lilja an excellent critique with BOB-puppy!



In the finals she was BIS-4 puppy, congrats dear girls Lilja and Mervi!

At the same time I went myself to Mikkeli with Ruuti and his owner Tuija. In the breed ring under judge mrs. Pylvänäinen-Suorsa, he was being a bit naughty, gaining BOB and another cc anyway.
In the finals he was back to himself, being a marvellous dog to stack and to move. I suppose this was also noticed by the group judge mr. Esa Ruotsalainen... the result was BIG-1!!

I was almost scared to stand in such tough company in the bis final, but Ruuti convinced mrs. Leni Finne and got his BIS-4 placement :)) Soooo happy we were, it was Ruuti's another group win in one month!

Gällivare show gave us great success!!

Again, it was time to make a looooong trip abroad, this time to Swedish Lapland, Gällivare. It was me with syblings Hertta and Tico plus Mervi, who co-owns puppy Lilja and her American Akita Ellsa.

The weather was NOT on our side, because it was raining heavily in the night and the show ground was everything but good for basenjis...
The breed judge was mrs. Liliane de Ridder-Onghena from Belgium and she gave it "all" for our basenjis :)
Lilja "Wow Factor" was BOB-puppy, Tico "Honky Tonk" was BOB and Hertta "Hula Hoops" BOS!! Both adult dogs got cc and cacib gaining their Nordic & Swedish titles!!

But it wasn't quite the end of the day... Firstly, Lilja was chosen as BIS-2 puppy by mrs. Anita Whitmarsh!! She is such a cutie <3 Here Lilja is pictured couple of weeks back at our Specialty.

The judge for group 5 was mrs. Nina Karlsdotter and she gave Tico BEST IN GROUP!

Sooo happy about it! Mr. Harry Tast was the judge of BIS final and Tico was finally BIS-4, what a great feeling :)


Also Mervi's Akita Ellsa was Group-3, what else could we have hoped for?? Nothing. The trip went very well. Congrats to Niina and Mari and hugssss for loving Hertta and Tico. Mervi, you know, we had a great time. Thanks for loving Lilja.

Finnish Basenji Specialty 2013

The extremely long awaited show was last weekend. It surely is the highlight of the year to all of us Basenji people :)
You know, our Citroen Jumpy van was sooooo full when we left and was even more full when we came back from the show.. ;)
7 basenjis and 3 people, yes, it was full!

But anyway, the results were amazing!
In puppies we only showed one puppy, our super lovely girl Wow Factor "Lilja", and she was 2nd out of 14 minor puppy bitches! We cannot wait for her hitting the rings after this one....




Then it was Raisu's go (Smooth Operator), and he won the junior class with cq!



Also brother Ruuti (Saturday Night Fever) won his class, intermediate, with a cq as well.



Hot Rod "Rocky" looked also fab as always and was 2nd in a big champion male class to his uncle Rene! I love Rocky to bits!!



The best male competition was amazing as out of 32 males young Ruuti won 2nd best male and a cc and Rocky was 3rd best male!! And Raisu got the res-cc!!



So the males' day gave us more than we dreamed, and the success continued also on Sunday when two of our girls were shown, both in Champion class. Momma Maisa got excellent with a cq and daughter Hertta (Hula Hoops) was placed as 4th best bitch!!




And later on our breeders group won BEST IN SHOW out of 6 wonderful groups, we are still today thrilled :))

Thank you to our judge, Leila Kärkäs, she handled all the dogs with her pleasant way :)
And also super thank yous go to all the people (co-) owning our "babies" and keeping them always in tip top shape, we cannot thank you enough...

We have a New Finnish Champion!

On Saturday Mikko was so kind to take two of our/his boys, Lego and Duplo, to a group show in Vaasa. The judge was mrs. Säde Hohteri.
We are so pleased about Duplo's show debut and a great critique; he got excellent-1. Duplo's pedigree name is Hi-Lite Super Trouper.

But Lego (Hi-Lite D'Light Bulldobas) was the king of the day! He won BOB and the last needed cc and is now a new Fi ch! It only took him 6 shows to finish :)

Ruuti is a Group Winner!!

Had a nice and sunny day at Tuuri All Breed show yesterday. We had entered only Ruuti, Hi-Lite Saturday Night Fever.
He did it and won BOB with a cc! So proud of him, thank you judge Anneli Pukkila.

But it wasn't just that; later on in the finals he was chosen as a Best In Group-1 by mrs. Tuula Pratt!! We are of course over the moon about the success of this young boy.

Lilja BIS-1 at a Match Show in Oulu

This sweet and cute little girl Lilja, Wow Factor, won Best In Show-1 at a match show of about 100 dogs yesterday. We are very proud and grateful to her owners Mervi and JP!



Lilja's brother Seti, Wise Guy, went to the same show and was placed 2nd out of red ribbon puppies! This is a great achievement also, congrats Tiia!

Amazing day at Kuopio International Show, our hometown!

The entry for basenjis was only 6, the judge was mr. Theo Leenen from Belgium. He was a very pleasant and charming man.
First out in the ring were our junior boys Ruuti and Raisu (Saturday Night Fever and Smooth Operator). This time Raisu won the class, both with a cq, and title Royal Canin BOB junior. Both boys received an excellent critique! Here is Raisu gaiting:



In champion class we had also two boys, brother Rocky and Tico (HL Hot Rod and Honky Tonk). Both boys got excellents with cq and Rocky won this time. In the best male class Rocky also was placed as first, followed by Raisu as bm-3 with res-cc and Ruuti bm-4!

Our Hertta "Hula Hoops" was the only girl to be shown and she got her 7th cacib! In the end Rocky was BOB and Hertta BOS - they are one amazing pair :D
